Walter "Sandy" Andrus Taylor, age 79, recently of Forest, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, from Parkinson's disease at his daughter's home in Morrisville, North Carolina, under the care of Hospice. Walter was born December 23, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Ralph Wesley Taylor and Margaret Patton (Dyson) Taylor. He was a printer for many years and later worked in the shipping department of Harrington Corporation. He was an avid and skilled gardener who loved being outdoors, playing board and card games, and listening to big-band music. Walter is survived by his daughter, Karen (Matthew) Brown; grandchildren, Matthew (Kate Locke) Brown, Erin (Molly) Brown, Dominic Brown, and Chloe Brown; nephew, Ernest (Jo Ann) Stinnette; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Stinnette, Ralph "Frank" Taylor, Robert "Bobby" Taylor, and John "Jack" Taylor; and ex-wife, Sally (Andrews) Geissler. A memorial service and interment of ashes will take place Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Pisgah Presbyterian Church, 3056 Pisgah Rd., Forest, with arrangements by City of Oaks Funeral Home in Raleigh, North Carolina.
