Carolyn Adams Moon, 75, of 1528 Dews Road, Hurt, died on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was welcomed to Heaven by her Lord and Savior and then reunited with her beloved husband, R. Wayne Moon. She was born on October 23, 1943, in Halifax County, a daughter of the late John Daniel Adams Sr. and Eva Saunders Adams. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and a retired employee of Klopman. She is survived by one son, Carroll Wayne Moon and his wife, Carolyn, of Lynchburg; one daughter, Verna Moon Burnette and her husband, Brian, of Hurt; four grandchildren, Bryce Piercen Burnette, Lucas Wayne Burnette, Emily Ann Moon, and Jeb Atkinson Moon; one brother, John "J.D." Adams and his wife, Wynona, of Hurt; three sisters-in-law, Yvonne Adams, Donna Gail Claypoole, and Janna V. Hall and her husband, David, all of Hurt; one brother-in-law, Herbert Dawson of Danville; six nephews, John Timothy "Tim" Adams and his wife, Kim, Daniel Keith "Danny" Adams, Douglas R. "D.R." Adams Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, Douglas Maxwell Dawson and his wife, Cathy, J.W. Garner and his wife, Angie, and Trevor Garner and his wife, Catrina; and special friends, Barbara and Cecil Crews, Joyce Kidd, Fay, Steve, Susan, Katlyn, and Madison Dalton, and Lauren Harris. She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas R. Adams Sr.; and a sister, Anita Dawson. "Gany" as she was fondly called by her children and grandchildren, loved people with the true love of Jesus. She enjoyed life, and enjoyed traveling anywhere and everywhere with family and friends. Her Toyota van with "Gany4" license plates was frequently seen traveling local roads. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019, at New Prospect Baptist Church by the Rev. Brady Willis with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence.
