Diner in Wakefield closed due to flooding, set to reopen today
RICHMOND — Virginia Diner, a Wakefield restaurant famous for its peanuts, experienced flooding in its parking lot Friday afternoon due to torrential rains.
The restaurant was closed Saturday for a water mitigation team to clean up and will reopen for service today.
“Our parking lot flooded on Friday. We had some rain water get in the restaurant, not much. We’re getting everything cleaned professionally and will be open Sunday morning at 6 a.m.,” said Chris Walker, assistant manager.
They posted the news to their Facebook page as well as pictures.
Virginia Diner is located at 408 County Drive North in Wakefield.
