Georgia B. Bryant, age 89, of Bedford, departed this life on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She was married to the late Curtis Bryant Sr. She is survived by four children, Renee Bryant-Jones, Frances Jeanette Martin (Roger), Curtis Bryant Jr. and Donnell Bryant; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Western Light Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Helen Louise Griffith, 89, formerly of Concord, Va., passed away peacefully at her home in Bedford, Va., surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Billie Burke Lowe Sr. Born in Tazewell County, Va., on April 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry Griffith and Ella Marie Brooks Griffith. Helen loved spending time with her family and enjoyed having her grandchildren around, they brought her tremendous joy. She also enjoyed bird watching, gardening, watching old scary movies, Charlie Brown and Snoopy cartoons, listening to rock n' roll music, playing the guitar, and singing. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Brenda Anne Lowe; brothers, Robert Griffith, James "Shorty" Griffith, John Henry Griffith, Roy Lee Griffith, Michael Griffith, Billy Griffith, Bobby Griffith, Glenn "Peanut" Griffith; sisters, Virginia Defore, Rosa Lee Griffith; son-in-law, Mickey Medley; and her very special great-grandson, Landon Janse Martin. She is survived by daughters, Deborah Mayberry (Robert Jr.), Betty Medley, Peggy Martin (Bernie), Roxanna Lowe; sons, Billy Lowe Jr. (fiancée Karen) Thomas Lowe (Tanya); sisters, Mary Ellen Kitts, Elizabeth Robbins; brothers, Joseph "Harry" Griffith, Buddy Griffith; brothers-in-law, Pete Anderson, Tom Lowe (Francis); grandchildren, Bryan Fitz (Lindsay), Chris Medley (Jennifer), Lonnie Medley (Marie), Jackie Burley (Chris), Sarah Ayers (Willie), Rebecca Mitchell (Jonathan), Maggie Martin, Chrystine Thacker (Chris), Stephanie Austin (fiancée Jeremiah), Kasey Sipes, Thomas "Matt" Lowe Jr., (Katie), Jacob Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Nate Lowe, Nick Lowe: 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Claude Cordle. Peggy was the loving and devoted wife of Danny Robbins Sr. of Madison Heights. Peggy was born on November 15, 1952, in Lynchburg, the daughter of the late William "Bud" Williams and Lauchee "Tee" Martin Williams of Madison Heights. One sister, Serinna Frances Campbell, preceded Peggy to Heaven. In addition to her husband, Peggy leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Jamie White and husband, Robert White; three stepsons, Bobby, Danny Jr., and Randy Robbins; one sister, Janice Tomlin and husband, Wayne; two loving grandchildren, Serinna and Andrew White; two nephews, Clyde Campbell Jr. and Aaron Tomlin; special friends, Terry Dejarnette, Pat Neighbors, Judy Adcock, Melissa Tinsley, and Brenda White; and many other family and friends. Talmage Hall Durham, 88, formerly of Hurt, died on Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Beacon Place in Greensboro, N.C. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Odell Hall and Wade Durham. She was born on May 29, 1931, in Hurt, a daughter of the late Robert Forlines and Tinnie Dalton Forlines. She was a member of Guilford United Methodist Church in Greensboro, N.C., and formerly of Hurt United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and a host for eleven years at the Tex & Shirley Restaurant in Greensboro. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Shelton and her husband, Leonard, of Hurt; one sister, Nancy Eubanks and her husband, Billy, of Lady Lake, Fla.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Hall and Mark Krupnick; and one great-granddaughter, Karen Hall. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hall. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Green Lawn Cemetery in Hurt by the Rev. Jim Brown. On Thursday, February 6, 2020, Yvonne Patricia Johnson-Napier reached the front of the line and entered into the Heavenly Gates to be greeted by many loved ones and friends. Yvonne was born on April 25, 1945, in Lynchburg, Va., the oldest daughter of the late Aaron and Clara Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Irvin Napier. Yvonne is survived by one son, Melvin (Kim) Johnson Jr. of Richmond, Va.; one daughter, Pamela (Joyce Waddy) Johnson of Kents Store, Va.; two grandsons, Corey Johnson and Cameron Johnson, both of Richmond, Va.; one brother, David Alexander of Lynchburg, Va.; one sister, Deborah (Michael) Marshall of Lynchburg, Va.; one brother-in-law, George Napier of Madison Heights, Va.; three sisters-in-law; one niece, Brea Marshall; three nephews, Charles Hogue Jr., Mike Hogue and Rodney Hogue; two godsons, Jahmal Brown and Trey Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
