Sweet Briar College has hired a new Vice President for Enrollment Management, according to a news release from the school.
William Allen Jr. takes over July 1 from Steven Nape, who’s been interim chief enrollment officer since last summer.
Allen comes to Sweet Briar from West Virginia University Institute of Technology, where he was the dean of enrollment services.
“Given our emphasis on the sciences and that Sweet Briar is one of only two women’s colleges with an ABET-accredited engineering program, we are thrilled that Bill will bring to Sweet Briar invaluable experience attracting students interested in STEM,” Sweet Briar President Phillip Stone said in the release.
Allen’s work experience includes stints at the College of Saint Elizabeth, North Carolina Wesleyan College and Castleton State College and Mary Baldwin.
“During my more than twenty years in higher education, I have worked at different kinds of institutions, including women’s colleges,” Allen said. “I look forward to bringing all my strategic knowledge to Sweet Briar and being part of the next chapter of the College’s history.”
