Scales and tails were plentiful at the Lynchburg Public Library Thursday during a reptile show with the Larsen family. More than 100 children and their families had the chance to touch lizards, geckos, iguanas, snakes and turtles after Scott and Kim Larsen introduced and described the reptiles.
When Scott Larsen pulled a large green iguana named Lime out of his carrier, a whispered “Wow!” echoed around the room.
Later in the program, all eyes were on a tall branch in the front of the room as Larsen fed a chameleon and his long tongue whipped out to grab the worm.
The show was a special library event for spring break, according to Youth Services Director Beverly Blair. The Larsen family said they plan to be back next year with new reptiles to share.
