On March 26, 1934, spurred by a trio of recent tragedies, a group of young men gathered in the attic of the Diuguid mortuary to see if they could find a way to render assistance to their community. And that was the birth of the Lynchburg Life Saving and First Aid Crew. In the decades that followed, the group responded countless times when necessity called.
