The Temple Christian School softball team hosted the Virginia Association of Christian Athletes Invitational State tournament last Friday and Saturday as the local girls won second place.
Temple lost its first game last Friday, 7-2, to United Christian Academy but came back to win back-to-back shutouts by blanking Southwest Virginia Home School, 15-0, and then wiped out Westover Christian Academy, 11-0.
The Temple defense had a perfect 3-game tourney and was error-free both days.

» Holloway struck out 13 in a 1-hitter (facing the minimum number of batters after picking a runner off of second) against Westover
» For the weekend, the Temple pitching staff went 16 innings, giving up 13 hits, 7 runs, striking out 34 and walking 4
