The Lady Lancers basketball team was eliminated from the first round of the Seminole District Tournament last week as E.C. Glass took a 46-39 win on the Lady Hilltoppers’ court in Lynchburg.
“This was a very physical game tonight and I was proud of the way our team responded and kept fighting through adversity,” said Amherst coach Ron Carter. “We have improved in a lot of areas this year but our ability to score consistently has been our Achilles heel. We have been very competitive in the district this year and I always feel that we have a chance to win every night. We will prepare for a regional tournament game this week at Jefferson Forest and we will prepare with the same confidence.”
Scorers for Amherst included Kendra Smith with 15 points while Nadia West had 11, Holland Saunders added 10, Kiara Smith had 2 and Elizabeth Carter had a point.
