Lelia Elizabeth Ogden, 90, of Arlington, formally of Nelson County, died on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. Born on October 28, 1928, in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Leo Clifford Ogden and Nolie Wright Ogden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Ogden; and a sister Anna Harris. Lelia was a member of Capital Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and a retired Administrative Assistant for the Internal Revenue Service with over 40 years of service. She is survived by her sisters, Faye O. Purvis of Shipman, Mildred O. Johnson of Silver Spring, Md., and Jean O. Ayres of Richmond, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Lovingston with Pastor David Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston.
