Second Stage Amherst, a nonprofit that operates in the former church building on Second Street in Amherst, recently unveiled its new logo.
“Our original logo represented our original goal, which was to save the building, but saving the building was only the beginning,” said Penny Hawes, operations manager at Second Stage.
The nonprofit’s mission is to inspire creativity and community by providing a place where the cultural, civic and economic vitality of Amherst County is encouraged.
“Our new logo still incorporates the steeple element from our original design, and we’ve updated the font to have a more relaxed, fun feel to it,” Hawes said. “Shortening our tagline from ‘A Center for Creativity and Community’ to ‘Creating Community’ addresses our mission and is more concise. We’ve been delighted with the creativity Dana Poleski brought to the process. The visual identity she created for us is exactly what we were looking for.”
