The Nelson indoor track team opened its season last week in the Mini Ivitational # 1 held at the Fork Union Military Academy with Robert Morris taking home the only first place for the Govs.

Morris won the 500 Meter with a time of 1:15.08 while also taking 5th place in the pole vault and a 15th spot in the 55 Meter Dash with a time of,7.18.

Other Nelson runners in the 55 were Aveon Tabb in the 23rd spots and Jacob Fitzgerald in 27th.

In the 300 Meter Dash Coly Maur finished 15 th followed by Rabb in 16th and Julian Warner in 21st.

In the shot put event James Johnson took the 13th finish and Bryson Ramsey,18th.

In the girls competition Savannah Lawson too a 5th place in the 500 Meters while Savannah Averitt was16th.

Pole vaulter Rylee Truslow cleared six feet that was good enough for a 12th place finish.

Madison Jennt won 15th place in the 55 Meeter Dash followed by Elizabeth Buteau in the 17th spot and Ramsey ended in 18th.

In the 300 Meter Dash Jenny finished 14th,Buteau,18 and Ella Manthey in the 19th position.

The team heads to Heritage high school in Lyncburg this Friday for its second meet.
