The Nelson Govs outdoor track team hosted William Campbell and Appomattox last week as the host team won 11 first places, four seconds, five thirds, two fourths and four fifth place finishes.

Long distance specialist Savannah Lawson won first place in the 800 meter and 1600 meter runs.

Megan Brown won the shot put and in the discus took a second place.

For the boys Robert Morris took the top spots in the pole vault event and in the 400 Meter Dash.

Griffin Hill won second place in the pole vault.

Carlos Martin flexed his muscles with first place wins in the shot put and discus events.

In the triple jump competition Bryce Wilson leaped his way to victory by landing at 40 feet.

Devon Cousins was another double winner, a speedy 23.81 in the 200 meter run and a first in the high jump.

Tyler Oram won the 800 meter run and Aveon Tabb took a first in the 300 meter hurdles.
