Second Stage Amherst, an organization dedicated to providing a place for education, entertainment, and cultural enrichment, invites community members to swing into 2019 ahead of the crowd by attending “Swing’s the Rage @ Second Stage.”

The dance party featuring live music, food, and drinks, is set for 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29. The swing-dance party will include a performance by the Charlottesville-based big band Sentimental Journey — a 16-member group with vocalists carrying on the musical traditions of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and other great artists of the swing era.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, plus a signature cocktail, will be available. Black and white attire is welcome though not required.

Tickets for the event cost $25 per person, $40 per couple, or $150 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased via www.LynchburgTickets.com or by calling Second Stage at (434) 941-0997.
