Jesse Rutherford to hold town hall meeting

Jesse Rutherford, East District representative on the Nelson County Board of Supervisors, will hold a town hall meeting at the Walton Mountain Museum, 6484 Rockfish River Rd., in Schuyler on March 25 at 6 p.m. Rutherford said the topic of discussion will be improvements to the Schuyler area.

Nelson County Board of Supervisors meeting to be held Thursday

A board of supervisors meeting will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Bridge Room of the Courthouse at 84 Courthouse Square, Lovingston. The board will be holding a work budget session for the fiscal year 2020 budget and will discuss any other business that may be presented.

PVCC hosting information sessions for prospective students

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) will host “Getting Started” information sessions in March for prospective students. Outreach Manager Denise McClanahan will introduce PVCC’s degree and certificate programs and provide information on placement tests, student services and other resources to help students get started at the college. The sessions are free and open to the public, and no advance registration is required. Anyone in any location can attend the sessions. Sessions are available at the dates, times and locations below:

PVCC hosts free annual job fair

Piedmont Virginia Community College will host its 35th Annual Job Fair on March 27 from 10 a.m. to

2 p.m. Students, alumni and community members will have the chance to meet with Central Virginia employers offering various jobs and internships. The job fair will be held in PVCC’s Main Building.

Attendees are encouraged to prepare for the job fair by bringing resumés, dressing professionally and planning to network. Free parking will be available at the Stultz Center on PVCC’s main campus and a shuttle bus will take attendees to the Main Building.

New this year is the “Dress for Success Pop-up Shop” offering free interview and work clothing in room M103 from March 19 to 27. Students and community members may “pop in” to pick out clothing for the job fair.
