The Academy Center of the Arts is bringing back its Palates & Palettes fundraiser, which pairs art and culture with local food and drink. It will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the historic Academy of Music Theatre and the Academy art galleries next door.
Four different stations will be set up between the theater and the gallery, each one pairing various art experiences with food and drink. They include:
- Live bluegrass music from Cold Creek with chainsaw art demonstrations in the historic theater’s courtyard, paired with barbecue from Fifth & Federal Station and bourbon tastings;
- An improv comedy workshop on the theater stage, paired with Mediterranean food by Tahini’s and martini tastings;
- A live painting demonstration by artist Arnulfo Jacinto (pictured) in the gallery building, paired with a grazing table by Purple Door Catering and wine;
- An interactive mural reveal in the theater’s lobby, paired with Cinn City cinnamon buns and coffee.
Tickets range from $25 to $40 for adults and are $10 for children. Visit www.academycenter.org for more information.
