Trade Adjustment Assistance Petition Approval Notification The Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) has been notified that employees of Parker Hannifin Corporation, O-Ring and Engineered Seals Division including on-site leased workers from Manpower, Lynchburg, Virginia has been certified by the U.S. Department of Labor for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) provided under the Trade Act of 1974, as amended. The U. S. Department of Labor has determined that a shift in production or services, like, or directly in competition with, the products or services produced by Parker Hannifin Corporation, O-Ring and Engineered Seals Division including on-site leased workers from Manpower, Lynchburg, Virginia contributed significantly to the decline in sales or production and to the total or partial separation of workers at the company. To be eligible for Trade Adjustment Assistance, you must have been totally or partially separated from Parker Hannifin Corporation, O-Ring and Engineered Seals Division including on-site leased workers from Manpower, Lynchburg, Virginia on or after March 7, 2018 and before June 19, 2021. Certain wage and employment qualifications must also be met in order to be eligible for TAA programs. The VEC has determined that you may be eligible to file for Trade Adjustment Assistance. You are requested to report for an informational session on Trade Act benefits and programs with VEC representatives at the following location based on the following schedule: Virginia Employment Commission VA Career Works Lynchburg Center 3125 Odd Fellows Road Lynchburg, Virginia 24501 Claims will be taken on: Wednesday, July 31, 2019 2:30 p.m. Please note if site address is not easily accessible from your residence other office locations might be available. If residing out of state, arrangements can be made with other State agencies to assist in filing for trade benefits. In addition to unemployment insurance benefits, eligible persons under the TAA program may also be entitled to the following additional services: Training allowances Job search allowances Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA) Relocation allowances for new employment opportunities outside of your residential area (RTAA) for older persons who have found employment Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) to assist towards monthly health insurance premium. These services have specific time limitations and eligibility requirements that must be met, so it is imperative that you file your trade claim immediately.
