PUBLIC NOTICE The Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, Inc. in Lynchburg, Virginia, proposes to replace and increase a portion of its passenger and lift-equipped vehicle fleet which currently serves the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell and the Town of Bedford and the City of Lynchburg. The fleet provides transportation services to eligible seniors and handicapped individuals to and from essential human services to include, but not limited to, nutrition sites, physician appointments, attainment of groceries and prescription medicines, social security, social services, and other human services appointments. Federal funds are being requested from the Commonwealth of Virginia to purchase two (2) minivans with wheelchair ramps through the FTA Section 5310 Program to continue this service. The vehicles will be used regularly between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and other times as needed. We invite any interested public or private transit or paratransit operator within the Central Virginia Planning District 11 to comment on the proposed replacements by sending a written notice by February 1, 2020 to: Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, Public Transportation Division, 600 E.
