What’s a ‘Blessing of the Animals’?

🐶 A Blessing of Animals, in many congregations, witnesses to God's and the Church's love, care, and concern for creation.  As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God's creatures, the Church's witness of stewardship of creation is strengthened.

🐔 The service itself is short: perhaps under 20 minutes.  Please bring your pets on a leash or in their carrier.

🐱 If your furry or feathered or finned friend is shy of crowds then feel free to bring a picture or your memory.  This is a service for the animals as much as for the humans – we want the animals to be safe and comfortable.  God’s eye is on the sparrow (Matthew 10:31): He will know the animals we pray for.

🐰 Snacks for pets (and pet owners) will be provided!
