Local swimmers stand out in 2A-3A Swimming Championships

Brookville’s Ashley Mauzy claimed first-place in the 200 IM and second place in the 100 fly at the Virginia High School League 2A-3A State Swimming Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center on Friday.

Mauzy finished at 2:08.13 in the 200 IM and then posted a 57.71 in the 100 fly. The Brookville girls also placed sixth in the 200 medley relay (1:57.01) behind Hidden Valley, Kettle Run, Lafayette, Western Albemarle, and Cave Spring.
