Bill Eubank William L. "Bill" Eubank III, 73, died at his Hixson home on Sunday, January 12, 2014. A native of Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Eubank was the son of the late William L. and Madeline B. Eubank. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1963. The same year he joined Norfolk Western, continuing with the company through its merger to become Norfolk Sothern, and retired as the company's National Accounts Manager in 2000. Mr. Eubank was a longtime member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Sons of the American Revolution. He held several offices in the organization, including president, vice-president and veteran committee chairman for the John Sevier Chapter; state president, state color guard and state chairman of the Center of Advancing America's Heritage committee for the Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution. During his tenure he was honored with numerous medals including the Silver Color Guard Medal. Mr. Eubank also held membership with the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Society of Colonial Wars, as well as the Navy League of the United States, Greater Chattanooga Area, John J. Splitter Council. Survivors include his wife, Fay B. Eubank; children, William L. (Erica) Eubank, IV; Wendie F. (Marcus) Henderson; grandchildren, William L. "Will" Eubank, V; Addison G. Henderson and James D. Henderson. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Allwood Cemetery, Allwood, Virginia. Following the ceremony, friends will be received at the home of Doug and Joyce Eubank, 2397 Buffalo Springs Turnpike, Monroe, VA 24574. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the John Sevier Chapter of the Sons of American Revolution, 6401 Cheltenham Road, Hixson, Tennessee 37343 or the Allwood Cemetery Association, 2397 Buffalo Springs Turnpike, Monroe, VA 24574 Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services; 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343; 423-531-3975.
