Senate panel OKs review of state-federal cooperation

RICHMOND — A bill asking federal officials to notify Virginia anytime they remove a person from the commonwealth for national-defense reasons was approved Monday in a Senate committee.

Gov. Bob McDonnell, the ACLU and the Tea Party Federation support the bill, said its sponsor, Del. Ben Cline, R-Rockbridge County.
