Parts of McDonnell’s schools package advance to House floor

Parts of Gov. Bob McDonnell's education agenda sailed through House Education Committee this morning, including the bill outlining that a teacher can be dismissed after at least one unsatisfactory formal performance evaluation.

The committee unanimously advanced to the full House of Delegates a measure to bring the Teach for America program to Virginia and another to allow a local school board seeking to create a charter school to skip review by the Board of Education.
