Elementary students learn economics at Market Day

As the bell rang to open the market Wednesday morning, about 160 elementary school students from Lynchburg and Bedford County schools dashed about, readying their businesses for the Mini-Economy Regional Market Day.

Hosted at Lynchburg College, the event was the result of a joint effort of United Way of Central Virginia, the Lynchburg College Center for Economic Education and local schools to teach students economics.
