Bedford County road conditions moderate to severe

Bedford County and town administrative offices and the public schools will be closed today as town and Virginia Department of Transportation officials look to clear the roads.

According to VDOT, conditions on primary roads in Bedford County are “moderate,” meaning they have snow and ice on them. Route 48 near the Botetourt County line was labeled as severe with “deep snow or ice.” All secondary roads in the county are also considered to be in severe condition.
