The Greater Lynchburg Community Trust has awarded the Academy of Fine Arts a $4,000 grant to fund free arts education classes for families.

Family Art Saturdays, to be held in the Academy’s pottery studio once a month, will “provide an opportunity for parents and children to work side by side on art projects in clay and other media,” May Carter, director of the pottery studio, said in a news release.
