About 1,100 Appalachian Power customers in Lynchburg lost electricity for a couple of hours Thursday morning, thanks to a squirrel.

The outage marks at least the fourth time in three weeks that an animal has been responsible for knocking out power to more than 1,000 people at a time locally.
