Housing authority cut by sequestration

The Lynchburg Redevelopment & Housing Authority announced Thursday it’s losing nearly 9 percent of its federal funding due to sequestration and other congressional budget cuts.

The cutbacks affect funding for the city’s public housing developments, Section 8 vouchers and administrative costs. Individual program cuts range from 6 percent to 31 percent.
