Drunken driving in Bedford city will land you more than just a brush with the law and a day in court — it may lead to your photo displayed on Facebook for friends, family, co-workers and even strangers to see.
The city police department earlier this month started the practice of placing head shots of those arrested for DUI offenses on its Facebook page in hopes of deterring intoxicated drivers, Bedford Police Chief James Day said. He hopes the online exposure will lead to a reduction in drunken driving.
