After bagging nearly 100 kills last year in its debut, a coyote lottery in Bedford County will kick off Wednesday and last through mid-March, giving residents a chance to cash in on prizes.
Funded by local businesses and organizations, the program entices hunters and trappers to participate in a countywide effort to man-aging the threat of coyotes. The lottery gives participants an entry per coyote killed, with no limits on entries, when checking carcasses into a check-in point at Southern States in Bedford until March 14.
