Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling left no doubt he’s seriously thinking about running for governor as an independent candidate during an interview with The News & Advance Tuesday, saying he will announce a decision in early March.

“The door is much more widely open for that now than it was when we first broached this possibility,” said Bolling, who withdrew from the Republican nominating process Nov. 28 but never endorsed his rival, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
