Two men face a string of drug charges following the discovery of almost $1 million in marijuana in Fluvanna and Nelson counties.

Floyd J. Suddarth, 65, of Fluvanna, and David C. Ragland Jr., 64, of Schuyler, both were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, conspiracy to manufacture marijuana and conspiracy to possess marijuana with intent to distribute. Suddarth also faces an additional charge of possessing a gun and marijuana.

After receiving a tip, state police in October found 110 plants 10 to 12 feet high off Kidds Dairy Road , according to a news release. Police estimated the street value of those plants at $330,000.

Police later found an additional 172 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $602,000 - along with more than 40 weapons and about $14,000 in cash - during searches of Suddarth and Ragland's homes, authorities said.

Both men are being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange .
