Liberty says no to Soulforce visit
Liberty University does not plan to allow members of the gay activist group Soulforce to step on campus today, despite the group’s announcement Monday of plans to do just that.
“To my knowledge, we have not authorized to let anyone on campus,” university spokesman Johnnie Moore said Tuesday. “We told them that they were restricted to the sidewalks.”
Advocacy group: Va. is a potential source of dispute
A voting rights expert at Common Cause says Virginia’s lack of experience as a swing state in a presidential election puts it in a class with Florida as a potential source of election controversy.
Tova Wang, a Common Cause vice president, said her citizens’ rights group evaluated 10 swing states’ plans for preventing election problems. It found what it called gaps in Virginia’s laws and
procedures.
New voters increase Lynchburg registrations by more than 12 percent
New-voter registrations in Lynchburg have boosted the voter rolls by an unprecedented 12 percent this year, with many applications from Liberty University students still to be processed.

Liberty University hosts national conference that puts ethics first in police work
Law enforcement officers face ethical decisions on matters of life and death as a part of their job.
And just because something is legal doesn’t mean it is ethical, said one of the speakers Wednesday at The National Intelligence Symposium for Law Enforcement’s annual meeting at Liberty University’s law school.
This year speakers talked about ethics involved in investigations and interrogations.
