RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Forensic Science Board is expected to decide whether to allow private attorneys to help notify felons of old biological evidence in their cases that could be retested.
The project began in 2005 when then-Governor Mark Warner ordered examination of all case files from 1974 through 1988 after evidence from old files cleared five men of rape.
In March, the General Assembly ordered the Forensic Science Board to notify all felons if DNA evidence is found in their files. Last month, a subcommittee of the board decided to ask attorneys to help notify the convicts.
The Department of Forensic Science now refuses to turn over the names because the private attorneys aren’t qualified to receive the information.
The board is meeting Wednesday in Richmond.

HAND THEM OVER,,or be dis-bared,,its a travesty of justice when anyone not guilty is in jail/prison,,all things must be done,,since the commonwealth dosent believe in the consitution,,and has forever locked so many people on a bunch of flimsy evidence called circumstance..like the consitution is circumstanclly written!!
