RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia farmers with less than 10 acres of land may now be eligible for federal assistance.
Tony Banks, assistant director of Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s commodity and marketing department, says famers have until Nov. 26 to apply for funding available under the 2008 Farm Bill.
President Bush signed the bill into law Oct. 13.
Virginia has 17,390 farms with crop acreage bases of 10 acres or less.
