Christiansburg soldier killed in Iraq

The U.S. Department of Defense said Sgt. Kenneth B. Gibson from Christiansburg has been killed in Iraq.
In a news release, the Army says Sgt. Gibson was killed after a roadside bomb detonated near him in Tarmiyah, Iraq.
Sgt. Gibson was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, according to the Army.
