Thumbs up to Churches United for Service, the group organizing a “Love Walk” for Aug. 16 in the Pierce Street neighborhood.

That’s the neighborhood where Kymberlee Moore, 16, was shot in a drive-by shooting July 28, while sitting with her family on their front porch.

Ministers, community activists, police officers and average citizens will be assembling at Miller Park at 9 a.m. that Saturday. They’ll going door-to-door through the Pierce Street and White Rock Hill neighborhoods, giving residents the opportunity to voice their concerns about violence and suggest ways to combat it in Lynchburg.

You owe it to your city to help out.
