Woman charged with DUI after wreck

Alcohol was a factor in a wreck that sent two Bedford County women to the hospital Saturday night, according to state police.

Trooper R.L. Johnson said Angelina Leanne Hale, 37, drove her 1999 Volkswagen Beetle across the center line on Virginia 122, near the Moneta post office, about 7:15.

She sideswiped a 2000 Oldsmobile van driven by Patsy Robertson, 57.

Johnson said Robertson swerved onto the shoulder, but still wasn’t able to avoid the impact from Hale’s car.

Both were hospitalized, John-son said, but none of the injuries were serious.

Hale was charged with DUI and driving without a seatbelt.
