CONCORD - A collision between a car and tractor-trailer sent two people to the hospital Monday night, one by helicopter, according to the Concord Fire Department.
The crash, which happened at the intersection of Virginia 24 and Village Terrace in Concord, injured the car’s two occupants, said Kenny Kirby, second assistant chief with CFD. One of the occupants was transported to the hospital by the Concord Rescue Squad. The other was flown out by MedFlight III around 7:20 p.m.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was evaluated on the scene by the Rustburg Rescue Squad, Kirby said. No further information was immediately available.
Kirby referred additional questions to the Virginia State Police. Trooper P.A. Eckenrode, who was investigating the accident, said he would not be able to provide any information Monday night.
