Police: Teen shot in Lynchburg

A 17-year-old was found shot in the arm and abdomen Wednesday night, police said.
The Lynchburg Police Department went to Gilmore Circle for a possible malicious wounding around 9:40 p.m., according to a press release.
Officers found the teenager with a gunshot wound to the left arm and abdomen.
The teen told police that he was walking in the 2100 block of Florida Avenue when he heard several gunshots and ran. He later discovered he had been shot.
The teenager was treated and released from Lynchburg General Hospital.
