Man charged with threat now charged with stalking

A Lynchburg man charged with threatening the life of Jerry Falwell Jr. has been arrested again after sending threatening e-mails to a reporter for The News & Advance.
Berkley Carter Mills, 56, of the 600 block of Reusens Road, was charged Tuesday with stalking and making threats of death or bodily injury by letter.
He had been out on a $10,000 bond following his arrest last week on the charge of threatening Falwell via The News & Advance’s online comments. His bond was revoked following the new charges Tuesday and he has been jailed.
The reporter, Chris Dumond, who had requested that Mills stop e-mailing him, received an e-mail sent by Mills around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The e-mail included comments such as:
- “what do i have to do ,,elude to some possible -ability that you will be BOMB,,like twin towers”
- “thus i damn your exsistance or do i save it” and
- “now here me carefully,,if i was jesus,,and WWJD,,i would (obscenity deleted) kill the bastARD,,before he killed me w/his kisss…”
Mills said after the first arrest that he was a convicted felon and can’t legally own a firearm.
The stalking charge is a misdemeanor. The making threats of death or bodily injury by letter charge is a Class 6 felony, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
He is due in court Oct. 8 on the threats charge from the original incident. No court date has been scheduled yet for the two charges relating to The News & Advance.

That’s funny you make the statement “It has been written, rewritten and changed so many many times, it is little more than a fiction novel at this point.“ You should realize that this statement is factually incorrect. If you study the issue, from an unbiased source, you would quickly realize that the Bible has quite a few more reliable sources than say, Homer’s Iliad, or most anything we know about socrates. Where is your rant about their writings and guidelines being forced upon you? I would be willing to bet that quite a few things you do is based upon writings of theirs, regardless of you realize or not.
My point is, that before making such claims, please research it. Challenge it, and make an unbiased decision.

I’m happy with being a Christian,I’ve found my life changed since I became one, years ago!I can witness too, many of things the Lord has done for me by applying his word(HOLY BIBLE KJV) into my life!
It’s my FAITH believing in something that I can’t see, nor touch, but knowing it’s true from what my heart tells me!
What Gods do you worship?Just wondering?

See, that is exactly the point. We all have different religions. It is only the extreme arrogance of the Christians to assume that their way to Deity is the only true way. And as for your Holy book? It has been written, rewritten and changed so many many times, it is little more than a fiction novel at this point. Besides, I (and I guess you as well) am not Islamic, so why should I believe the Koran? I am not Jewish, so why should I believe the Torah. I am not Christian either, so tell me why (without resorting to quoting from the book you are defending, or drawing any story for it) I should believe the Chrsitian Bible? It is no more true, or false, than any other collection of stories handed done initially by mouth then transcribed to paper over several thousand years. Why should I worry what your God says will happen? I have my own and I am happy with them.

Nope I’m not threatning,it’s a PROMISE that God Himself gives us in the Holy Bible but, once again you have that right to choose your faith.(just like Thomas Jefferson and yourself Arbiter)

Zigmitchell, are you making a threat??? Better watch out. People have been sent to jail for that you know.
Hmmm, should I feel threatened by a vague comment from a ranter on a blog site? Nah. But then I have some sense, unlike some others involved in this debacle.

Freedom or is it freedumb?You are not above the law,you can’t live like you are,You need help!You people want to blame Jerry Jr because it is Human nature to blame everyone else, but Freedom is a very disrespectful,vulgar,hateful person,full of mental illness, and he wrote,what he wrote!(THATS RIGHT HE WROTE IT!)It’s a crime that shouldn’t go with out concern!For the rest of you haters of the Falwells, your inappropriate comments aren’t necessary!They have done a ton of great things for our community, and will continue to do a ton of great things for us! I don’t attend thier Church,but I do believe in God and The Holy Bible,I’m sorry if people choose not too, that is your right that you’ll answer for soon enough!

amy really i sometimes wonder if you post anything thought out or you just post to stir things up, or are just plain dumb. yes this is a threat anyone can read it and no one is defending this one, because it is there! the “threat” or more like media attention move that junior did was far far from a threat, and you could say that him being put behind bars again by a fake police department with no jursidiction sent out by the hand that feeds them so they couldn’t say no (conflict of interest), instead of the real police which did want any part of it, could have pushed him over the edge in thinking people are out to get him, no one argued that he wasn’t all there.

Well poor Freedom is back in jail but th at is really not going to help him. He needs to be in a medical facility so that they can treat him and get him back where he needs to be. He has had this happen before and the doctors were able to help him. As far as I am concerned mental illness is no different than cancer its not something that you choose. He has stated before “..i would also like to add that im am mental..and have been for most of my life,,32 years ,,and of course i didnt know it ,,thats the problem with mental ilness,,the mental person dosent see themselves as mental ,,yet they send out red flags ,,and it was my red flags that i sent out and those around me who said ,,“u aint right “,,you r crazy"so i handle it like i have my doctors on stand-by 24/7..i have a padded romm on stand by 24/7..ive even let my local police department know that im mental ,,now that works both ways ..mainly if i should go on the deep end ,,they will know i have a mental condition and take that into consideration before they shoot !,,also as mental i know what triggers it and do whatever i can to avoid those situtation,,and if overwhelm seek my doctors ,,and boy do they fix me right up ..my last attack was 2 yrs ago and i was on seroquil 100 mg for over a yr ..im on nothing now ,,but i just want you to know
