Lynchburg Police respond to two reported armed robberies at same time

Lynchburg Police responded to two reports of armed robberies Monday night in different parts of the city.
Lt. Randall Houck said police were called to the scene of an armed robbery at around 8:20 p.m. at Center City Market, at 1200 Campbell Ave. A clerk told police that two men demanded money while showing a weapon. The men fled by foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police also are investigating an alleged robbery near the intersection of Wyndale Drive and McConville Road. Two Hispanic males told police they were robbed at gunpoint by three men.
The two robberies happened within minutes of one another. No arrests have been made in either robbery, which are under investigation.
