Gas company to restore pressure to Appomattox pipeline on Monday

The company that operates the three pipelines that push natural gas through Appomattox County expects to restore one of the lines to normal service on Monday.
Williams Gas Company had been operating the line at reduced pressure since an explosion in September in one of the other lines. That line, called the B line, has been out of service. The other two lines, called the A and C lines, have had an operating pressure of 670 pounds per square inch.
On Monday, the A line is expected to return to normal pressure of 800 psi.
The U.S. Dept. of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration signed off this morning on the move to restore the line to full pressure, according to the federal agency’s spokesperson Patricia Klinger.
