Crime Stoppers: Two convenience stores robbed

Beer and cigarettes were targeted in two convenience store burglaries in Campbell County, police said.

The first break in happened at the Sentry Food Mart at 22539 Timberlake Road on June 30. At 12:46 a.m. two people broke open the glass door of the business with a wooden post, then walked to the beer cooler and stuffed several beers into a duffel bag, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

The two suspects are described as average height, with one being heavier than the other. Both tried to conceal their faces during the burglary.

Then, on Monday, another break in happened at the same convenience store. The store’s surveillance camera shows the suspect breaking in at 1:18 a.m. to steal beer and cigarettes. The suspect was wearing white gloves, striped shirt and had a towel around his neck.

The Lynchburg Police Department is looking for the public’s help in solving a credit card theft. Police said a woman used a stolen credit card at the Apple Market on Wards Road on May 28. She was seen leaving the store in a light green colored vehicle.

The woman was wearing at blue T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

The person who provided tip number 08-108 is asked to contact Lieutenant J.C. Bauserman of the Lynchburg Police Department at (434) 455-3747 to collect reward money.

Bauserman requests the calls be made Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
