Drivers can expect to see lane closures and delays on the Carter Glass Bridge between Lynchburg and Amherst County soon, the Virginia Department of Transportation said.
The bridge will undergo repairs, including surface work, railing and drainage fixes.
The outside lane of U.S. 29 South on the bridge will be closed from late January to June. The
Main Street exit, Concord Turnpike and the Percival's Island Trail will stay open during that time.
The project is expected to be complete in mid-November.
A Roseland company, Cleco Corp., was awarded a $1.8 million contract for the work.
