Whatever was left of a Lynchburg house from a Christmas Eve fire went up in smoke Monday afternoon.
Lynchburg Fire Department Battalion Chief J.P. Kilgore said the uninhabited house at 210 C Street was being renovated when it caught fire around 4 p.m. Monday.
“The two rooms that didn’t burn up Christmas Eve burned up today,” he said. “The owner said he hadn’t been in it for a couple of days.”
The fire department is investigating and trying to rule out any cause but arson, Kilgore said.
Arson was ruled out from the first fire, but Kilgore said arson is suspected in Monday’s fire based on the fact that it’s “taken 11 months to rekindle.”
