An Appomattox elementary school teacher was arrested Friday after an investigation into theft at the school, law enforcement and school officials said.

Appomattox Primary School teacher Donna Paulette, 51, was arrested Friday for entering property with the intent to commit larceny and petit larceny, county officials said.

Appomattox County Sheriff Wilson Staples said the charges stemmed from an incident at the school on Nov. 5 and that Paulette has been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Bruce McMillan, Appomattox County Schools’ director of human resources and staff development, said Paulette was a Title I reading teacher at the school and has been with the division for 30 years.

McMillan said the arrest came after an ongoing investigation into several incidents of theft at the school. Paulette has been placed on administrative leave, he said.

Well, what is she accused of stealing?  Paper clips, erasers, glue, lunch trays, chalk, that green sawdust the janitor puts on the floor when a kid pukes…. What?
