Appomattox Town Council members would like to meet with the county’s Board of Supervisors on a biannual basis. Council unanimously agreed Monday on the matter, which was proposed by councilmember Bryan Baine.
“I think we all think it’s important to have a good working relationship with the Board of Supervisors and that has to be based on mutual respect and it’s hard to do that if we’re not in the same room,” Baine said.
The two bodies used to meet every four months, but that arrangement ended about four years ago.
“It might be a good opportunity to mend some fences, so to speak,” council member Karl Carter said.
The board and town council already are scheduled to meet Monday, Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss issues relating to a proposed waterline.
