The Amherst County Board of Supervisors is meeting tonight at the county administration office on Washington Street in Amherst.
Supervisors will discuss a $40,000 state homeland security program grant for a planned emergency response project; and $29,000 in renovations to a former church building for county offices.
The county attorney will also give the supervisors a memorandum of understanding between the county, state and county’s economic development authority regarding services rendered by the county as a fiscal agent for the EDA.
Supervisors are also holding a public hearing on a zoning change to allow signs as a special use in R-1 (limited residential) districts.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. To view the agenda and related documents, visit http://www.countyofamherst.com and click on the Government, Board of Supervisors links.
