Master Gardener volunteers were honored recently by Virginia Cooperative Extension for the hours they contribute to their communities.
Those recognized during the 21st annual Master Gardener College in Blacksburg included the following volunteers from the Lynchburg unit, which serves Lynchburg and the counties of Amherst and Campbell:
For 250 hours: Andrew Bowling, Diana Gray, Jean Higginbotham, Barbara Lafleur, Dewey Looney, Starke Mundy, Frances Ogden and Thomas Powers. For 500 hours: Gail Augenreich, Pat Beauregard, Doris Cann, John Casler, Debbie Hizer, Bonnie Kinnaird, Conrad Kauppi, Patty Kauppi, Mike Perry, Susan Piepho, Becky Richardson and Kay Taylor. For 1000 hours: Sara Jane Birgbauer, Sue Chipman, Jerome Cooper, Gracie Lanier, Joseph Pond and Iva Scott. For 2000 hours: Pamela Hanse. For 3000 hours: Betty Drinkard.
